Students should be aware that accessing government-subsidised training may affect future eligibility for further subsidised qualifications.

QLD Career Start Program: You can access up to two subsidised training places total, as either (a) one general Certificate III plus one apprenticeship/traineeship, or (b) two apprenticeships/traineeships at Certificate II/III (incl. school-based apprenticeship/traineeship). If you do the apprenticeship/traineeship first, you’re not eligible later for a general Certificate III under the Career Start Program. You cannot complete two general pathway qualifications. An individual can complete no more than two subsidised apprenticeships/traineeships across core programs.

QLD Career Boost Program: You may access one subsidised Certificate IV/Diploma/Adv. Diploma or one higher-level apprenticeship/traineeship (Certificate IV or above), plus up to two subsidised skill sets. Not eligible for a Career Boost apprenticeship/traineeship if you’ve already had two apprenticeships/traineeships through school-based apprenticeship/traineeship or Career Start in the last 10 years. Across programs, the total subsidised apprenticeships/traineeships cannot exceed two within a 10-year period.
